My Experience
Three years ago, I graduated from USU with my bachelor's degree in General Studies of Agricultural Science. Since then, I've been accumulating a lot of knowledge and experience by working for some truly amazing arborists. While working for Mark Malmstrom (Former owner of Total Tree Care and multiple-time-champion of the Utah State Tree Climbing Competition), I had the opportunity to watch a master climber complete work efficiently and safely on a daily basis. While working for Dane Gyllenskog (USU head arborist for the past 8 years and 2021 Utah "Arborist of the Year"), I absorbed a world of knowledge on tree climbing techniques, good practices for pruning to promote tree longevity, and I was able to add to the legacy of an arboretum campus by planting and moving many trees. While working for Chad Oukrop (owner of Fishhook Tree services in Palmer, AK and ISA certified arborist), I learned many tricks of the trade by falling hundreds of trees in residential areas over the course of a season. Standing on the shoulders of these mentors, I can confidently call myself a well-rounded tree worker with a valuable skillset to offer to you.
